Desert Sage, Photography

Day 1: April 5th, 2008

I’ve decided to make a year-long photography commitment – I’m going to take at least one photo per day, every day, for the next year. I haven’t been doing enough photography lately, and this seems like a good way to give myself a “boost.”

I like these guidelines, so intend to follow them:

This is Day 1. I’ll be posting photos to my LiveJournal (and possibly a 365 Opera community); I probably won’t post every day, but will post them at least once a week.

It seemed appropriate to begin the project with a self-portrait; I took this one while playing around in Mac Photobooth.

I know several of my LJ friends have done something similar (or are in the middle of their year right now). I’d love to hear about your experiences! :)

Project 365 Day 2 - Taweret

Day 2 - Taweret, originally uploaded by Here Be Dragons.

A photo of Taweret, the ancient Egyptian hippo goddess, in front of the entrance to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose, California. I love this museum, and spent a few minutes there today. I didn't stay long, though; it's one of my C's favorite places and somehow it just didn't feel "right" to be there without him. So, he and I will make a trip there together sometime soon.

And for the Doctor Who fans on my f-list: Collapse )

In case there's any doubt, yeah, these are self-portraits. :D I'm having fun with effects in Mac Photobooth. Look for another x-ray one soon . . . I've got an idea for something cool, but didn't get one tonight that I really liked. Good fodder for a future "365" shot, though.
