Random Facts about YOU Meme

I grabbed this from both alpheratz and angelofthenorth:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

I've done this in all of my friends' journals where I've seen it (at least I think I have . . . if you posted this and I missed it, poke me and I'll come tell you something random about myself). :-)

Oh - and while I'm updating, I'll add that I'm feeling *much* better today. Still congested and a bit weak, but no longer feeling really *ill.* Thank goodness. And C seems mostly recovered, as well. Sniffles and a cough, but he's mostly up to his old tricks, which is a good sign. Even when I don't appreciate his tricks. ::grin:: Thanks to everyone who sent happy wishes for good health. :-)

My earlobes have been pierced since I was four, but I wear earrings maybe once a year.

Ooh - much younger than I was. I was about 10, I think, when my grandmother took me to have mine pierced. I actually have a total of five holes, and almost NEVER wear earrings, either. ::grin:: Too much trouble to remember. ::grin::

I wear contact lenses. I own over a dozen rings, but have worn only two of them for a year. I hate revolutions in any shape or form with all my heart, which makes it difficult for me to accept that sometimes one is needed.

This is a bit off-topic, but I thought you might like this.

OOH! I do like . . . I wish I could get my computer to do the "save target as" thing with those icons. I never can manage to grab them. ::pout::

Do you like wearing contacts? I wore them for a while, and found them too much of a pain. Now, however, I no longer need eye correction at all. For some mysterious reason, my eyes corrected themselves, and when last tested, my vision is 20/20. Weird. But in a good way. :-)

Ah, that's because you're supposed to click on "Save Picture As." ::g::

I don't like myself in glasses, that's why I wear contacts. My best friend actually saw me in glasses this summer. She wasn't very supportive. Contacts are a huge pain if you want to swim. In all other cases, I love them.

And I am in awe of your eyes' self-corrective ability.

But "Save Picture As" only saves the still ones . . . not the animations. How do I grab the animations?

::pouts::

It *does* save the animations. Try it.

::shakes head::

Not on my system, it doesn't. I'm only given the option to "Save As" a .bmp, and am thus left with only one frame of the animation.

Maybe it is something weird in the way my computer is set up, because another thing that's weird is that sometimes, when I want to "Save As" a picture, I get a bunch of options (different file formats from which to choose). And sometimes, I am only given the option of saving as a .bmp. The other thing that's weird is that, when I have the options, I'll get the default file name that corresponds to what the original file is called; when I only have a .bmp option, it defaults to "untitled."

Do you have any idea what is going on? Maybe there is some setting I can change on my browser?

"Ah, there's Vicky...she likes spinach."

I do, what else? Hey, have 10 random facts about me:-

1. I love jalapeno peppers and eat them on their own sometimes
2. I have acquired a rash all over my stomach and chest in the past week - I blame it on the fact I have just bought my first ever sexy bikini, it's now warm enough to wear it and now I can't because people would be staring at the rash rather than the sexy bikini - grrr
3. I call my husband "Dot" - it's a long story
4. I can move my eyes independent of each other
5. I have also managed to acquire a twitch in my right eye in the past month
6. I am addicted to redskins (a yummy plastic pink sweet you get in Australia)
7. I have a pair of pink wedge sandals with sequins which I wear when I'm down to make myself happy - it rarely works
8. I am a pacifist and won't kill anything - not even mosquitos and I go out of my way to avoid stepping on ants etc
9. I act like a stroppy tired 5 year old a lot of the time, but I also act like an over-excited 5 year old and bounce round the house and play the "why?" game a lot
10. I am scared of the shower in my new house.

That do??

more me -

I love the sorceror's apprentice icon - lovely. I had a fab mug with the sorcerer's apprentice on it but alas I broke it during a drunken student slide off table and take all moy possessions with me :-(

Also played percussion in an orchestra performance of it and spent a number of months thereafter wandering around singing it with my words "noity noity nigidy etc etc" Drove quite a few people nuts, I can assure you.

Well, a couple more random facts about me - feel free to come over to my LJ anytime4 and give me any random facts you fancy, hey, why not get Connor to join in - I bet he could give us some good random facts

Dot? (Must hear story)

Redskins? (Send some if they are yummy, so I can try them and then be angry that I can't get them hear. Then you will be able to gloat about having them when I can't)

Hmnh. I am a pacifist, too, but apparently not a proper one, as I do kill mosquitos. (That's about the only thing, though). ::grin::

Has that shower been mean to you? Just send Rexy in to give it an attitude adjustment. :-)

Ok, I don't actually think redskins are yummy for anoyone over 5. Typical chewy stick-in-teeth plastic semi-flavourless sweetie. I like them because I aspire to being 5 years old again. Great ambition that.

It's not so much the shower that has been mean - more the room is tiles in a dark green with no real natural light and it is in the back wing of the house which is scary and lonely and has a tendency to gather spiders. It makes me thing it's something out of the Shining.

Glad you guys are feeling better.

Something you don't know about me....

I'm married to a convicted felon.

I'm the oldest person where I work, older even my GM.

I like to travel by bus, even if it means a 48 hour trip to Texas.

I'm allergic to all household cleaners, shampoos, laundry products available in stores and have to special order everything. *sigh*
