#97 - Definitely Dead

by Charlaine Harris

I adored this book as much as I’ve adored all the books in this series. I’m not sure exactly what it is about them that is so fantastic . . . I think maybe it’s just that the main character, Sookie, is so darned likeable in an authentic way. She’s no Mary Sue, but she’s just wonderful. Plus, there are so many great characters, and I always read through these books very quickly – can’t put them down – and then can’t wait to read the next one, so I can find out what’s going to happen next. But WAH! This one was just released in May, so it might be a while before Book 7 is published! Ah well. It will be worth the wait. 10/10

I love this series, but the titles confuse me. I can never remember which one is 1, 2, 3, etc. I didn't even realize there was a #6. I'm supposed to be getting #5 in a ring any day now and I thought I was going to be caught up. :-p

LOL! Yeah, I have a hard time keeping the names straight, too. But this is definitely Book 6 - it's fairly new, just published in May, so maybe that's why you didn't know about it yet? Get on a ring, though - it's a good one. :)

I've been looking for a new book series to read and this sounds interesting. Are these just general fiction? Also, can you tell me which is first in the series? Thanks!

The first one . . . heh. I'll have to look it up! I really can't keep the titles straight. I think it's Dead Until Dark . . .

Yes. It's Dead Until Dark. And they really are WONDERFUL books. Easy and light, but really enjoyable. Page turners for me, without a doubt. :) Um, and yes, I think they'd be in general fiction. They're sort of horror, and a bit romance-y, but I should hope they wouldn't be put in the romance category (since I don't think that's the overall point of these books). Unless your store has a section for supernatural (I think my Borders does). You shouldn't have any trouble finding them, though. They've become popular enough that I'd think most stores will stock them.
