VOTE November 7th!

I sat down for a while this evening with my voter's guide, and I'm now prepared to do my civic duty tomorrow - I read through all the initiatives, and marked up my sample ballot, so I'll be able to waltz into the polling place tomorrow and quickly and efficiently make my voice heard by my government.

I feel very strongly that every single citizen of the United States has a responsibility to do this, so if you live here and are eligible to vote, please take the time to go and vote tomorrow. We might not be electing a new president, but there are important races and initiatives on the ballot. And if you think your vote "doesn't count," don't believe that for a minute. The only way it doesn't count is if you don't get to the polls and VOTE.

Heh - surely, you're not being all cynical here in my Polly-anna-esque "vote to show you CARE" entry. ;)

Seriously, though, that's more reason than ever to GET TO THE POLLS. (And I know you'll vote, M, but I'm sure there are people who think about things like that, and decide to stay home). If we give up, they win.

Yes, I voted...at 10 am!!! :-O

Or, as Tim Allen said in Galaxy Quest (my personal favorite movie to quote - forgot about that Socrates guy!!!), "Never give up, never surrender!"

Cool icon. I'm hoping for good news tonight after the polls close.

Amen. I said something sorta similar in my LJ. I got ready last night too, even though my sample ballot seems to have been assembled incorrectly so the pages continue in the wrong places... ANYWAY I'm all ready to vote after work. I wish every American would vote; it would make a great deal of difference.
