Thirteen Things about WENDY

This week, I got my idea from the "10 things" meme that's going around; I just extended it to thirteen. Opening this up to the public makes it less likely I'll actually "stump" everyone, but I thought it would be a fun topic anyway. So, here are:

Thirteen things I've done which you probably haven't

1. Given a "meet the animals" presentation at the Los Angeles Zoo.
2. Heard Bach's "Toccata and Fugue" played live on the organ . . . in Notre-Dame de Paris.
3. Approached Kate Jackson for an autograph, and was turned away by her bodyguards.
4. Become a member of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC.
5. Did runway modeling at the age of three.
6. Breastfed my son in the Bruton Parish Church, Colonial Williamsburg.
7. Performed (sang and played guitar) in "United We Sing," at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion, at age 11.
8. Designed a tattoo based on the image of The World from the Dragon Tarot Deck (and had it tattooed on my back).
9. Ridden in a gondola in Venice, Italy, which was being steered by my four-year-old son. (That's the gondola, in my icon).
10. Attended a Thelemic mass.
11. Seen a manta ray from a glass-bottomed boat in the Indian Ocean near Rottnest Island.
12. Made a stained glass panel of a great egret, but forgot to include legs (it's really not noticeable unless you know to look).

And finally:

13. Performed the part of The Manicurist in Guillermo Galindo's "Trade Routes" world premiere. (I know I'm the only person to have ever done this. Since, um, world premiere). :D

You're right, I haven't done any of those!

6. Breastfed my son in the Bruton Parish Church, Colonial Williamsburg.

Get out!

Also, what's a Thelemic mass? Is that some kind of Aleister Crowley thing? *is igmo*

I mean "Get out!" in the sense of "Seriously? Cool!" not in the sense of, "Take your unhallowed boobies out of God's house, missy!" Just so we're clear.

Bwah! Actually, though, it's not as scandalous as it might sound. One of the ushers actually invited me to do it, and even let me sit in some private pews up near the front so I could have privacy. Still . . .

*falls over laughing*

This reminds me that I want a breastfeeding icon (even though my kid is eight, but whatever). Recently I found some video of me breastfeeding. (Okay, so how weird does THAT sound?), but really, it's because we were videoing C being cute, and in the middle he wandered over and asked to nurse, so there's like 5 seconds of it. But still, enough to get a screencap and make an icon! Ooh! A project for this weekend. Or, erm, sometime in the future. :D

Hmnh. That's a good question. Is it some kind of Aleister Crowley thing? I'm going to have to Google, since the one that I went to was a memorial for a friend (I didn't go because I knew what the heck was going to be happening; I just went to say goodbye to my friend). Off the top of my head, I'd guess that yeah, it's at least similar to Aleister Crowley stuff. Ceremonial magick. Whether or not it's actually descended from his work specifically . . .

Well, from what I saw at Wikipedia, I'm guessing that yes, there is a connection. In any case, it was pretty interesting, although not the sort of thing I feel drawn to do again.

What a fun list...you've done some fascinating things in your life. A great read..I played too

I apologize for posting in response to this entry to tell you that I would still like to stay on your flist. I do read your journal I just never saw that post you mentioned or I would have replied. I'm sorry about that. I've been having a lot of problems with my Internet connection, half the time I can't seem to get online and the other half of the time things seem to be running extremely slow so I haven't been able to keep up as well. AOL claims they're working on the problem, but I'm thinking it may be time for me to switch internet providers.

I admit I don't reply much, but I do try to read my flist every night...even when my Internet is acting up. Can I join you again?

Take care!

Oh, no apologies! That's why I left the note on my userinfo, so that anyone who really still wanted to be on my f-list would know to ask. I'm glad you still want to be here. :)

Nope, I've definitely not done any of those!

Happy TT! :)
