Safari Help?

Does anyone else out there use Safari as your main browser? For the past couple of weeks, it's developed a problem that is REALLY annoying. Frequently (as in a few times a day), it stops responding and I have to force quit (losing all my open tabs, of course). Yes. Annoying. Plus, it's just gotten really SLOW. Sometimes, anyway; other times it's fine. I never had trouble with it before . . . it's worked fine for YEARS. So what changed? My software is up to date; I've tried repairing permissions and this hasn't helped. I'm not sure what to do, but this is driving me bonkers. Has anyone else had this problem?

A real update soon - Connor and I had a terrific day yesterday (well, most of the good stuff happened in the evening). I have pictures, too. :D

I have the same problem actually. I've found, and I have no idea if this is accurate or not, but I've found that it happens to me more often when I have a lot of tabs open. Like to the point that I've got too many for them all to show up and I have them spill over onto a menu. It also happens more when I've hid Safari or when the computer hasn't been used for very long.

If you figure it out let me know! I hate losing my tabs.

Yes, I agree that it seems to happen more when I'm using loads of tabs. (Or maybe this is just when I'm angriest about it, because I hate losing tabs)! Something I did yesterday, which seems to be helping (too soon to know for sure, but I don't think I've locked up since I did it) was to clear the cache. (Under the "Safari" menu on the top bar). I'm still getting the spinny ball of D00M regularly, but it's not spinning for very long. O_o If that doesn't work, I found one other suggestion I might try - something to do with changing the preferences file, well, basically starting a new one from scratch, but I haven't tried that one yet. Ack. I'd post a link, but I must have closed that window and I don't remember where I found it. Somewhere in the official Apple forums, I think.

I'll definitely let you know if I find anything that seems to really fix the problem! :)
