Now that I’ve been working with Getting Things Done (GTD) for a couple of weeks now, it occurred to me that I had a lot of “open loops” here at 43 Things: stuff that I want to, which I have listed here, but that I’m not really doing anything to move forward. So, I decided to go through and identify a next action for all of my current goals. Now, I’ll be able to actively move these goals forward, when I have the time and inclination, and they’re all captured in my hPDA so I’ll be reminded of them at a regular interval.
It’s a good feeling to have processed all this stuff. I removed a few goals, too, and added a few new ones. I love using 43 Things, and now I feel like I’ve integrated it with the rest of my “system” so I can really use it as a tool to move forward, instead of just a cool website where I keep track of some stuff I might decide to do someday. Or not. In the future, I plan to plan my next action as soon as I create new goals, and make sure that my next actions for existing goals are kept up-to-date.
