Project 365, Day 34: Crystal Web

Day 34: Crystal Web, originally uploaded by Here Be Dragons.

For the past couple of days, I've been trying to get a good photo of a spider web. A couple of things have made this difficult. First, I'm limited by the number of webs in my (very small) garden, and more importantly, I'm limited by the locations of these webs - and whether or not I can get a good angle with the camera, with a background upon which the web will be visible.

This is the best of the bunch, so far. Few things are more prettily proportioned than the strands which form a spider's web.

Oh, pretty. I like how it's off-center, and how the dew emphasizes the strands. Very nice!

Thanks! I can't take credit for the composition - the spider spun the web off-center like that (although I did crop it to make the most advantage of that). The dew, however, is all mine . . . a "freak rainstorm" created by my handy spray bottle. :D (All the poor spiders in my garden are probably complaining to one another about the weather, since I've been spraying their webs like crazy. It's not like it hurts them, and I suppose it *could* have rained today). :D :D :D
