Project 365, Day 54: Pop Art!

Day 54: Pop Art!, originally uploaded by Here Be Dragons.

Didn't feel like pulling out the camera at all today (working on crochet projects; yes, there will be pictures of those very soon :D), so Connor and I monkeyed around in Photobooth.

Here we are, as Pop Art. :)

Aw, that's so sweet! Good for you for doing that.

I haven't been to That Yarn Store. That doesn't bode well... :) And yeah, Ravelry is pretty bad. It's a time sink on so many levels, apparently...

(This is a stupid question, one I'm sure I will regret asking . . . )

What is your favorite local yarn shop? I've been to the one in Dublin, which is fine, and one in Walnut Creek, which was pretty cool. There's one in Castro Valley which I tried to visit, but the day we went they were moving in from a different location, and booted Connor and I back out the door again (which did not impress me much, considering I'd just been to their website THAT MORNING and there was no mention of a closure).

I'm thinking there must be good ones in the East Bay. I probably wouldn't go all the way into the city for yarn, but I'd come to Berkeley or Oakland.

You were at FashionKnit or however they spell it in WC? I've only been there once, but liked it. Probably my go-to store is Article Pract a.k.a. The Evil Store, in Oakland. It's pretty close to 24, so not too bad to get to. Some people also like Stash in Berkeley a lot, but I haven't been there in a while. We went right after they opened, so they were still getting organized. I'm going on Friday for a yarn tasting, though, so I can report back. I sort of like K2tog a little better, it's right down the road from Stash.

We used to go to the CV store a lot, and still do for certain yarns. Well, and they have a fabulous needle selection. The owner is a little...different, though. Sorry you had such a bad experience with them.

If you're ever in the South Bay, Purlescence is an amazing store. I'm actually glad I don't live closer to them. :)

I'm going to stop now. :)
