The Next Doctor

Watched the Doctor Who Christmas special. It made me cry. "Bravo, Doctor!" *omgblub* Like someone (azriona, I think it was) said, it was funny and sweet. Also sad. But lovely.

I don't feel like writing up a big review, but if anyone wants to discuss favorite parts, or things that bugged you, or you loved, or hated, or whatever, please feel free, spoilers and all.

The "Bravo, Doctor" moment was WONDERFUL!!! How touching for the Doctor to be thanked like that after losing so many people from his life.

How is what happened to Jackson different than what happened to Donna? Does it have to do with how each person got part of the Doctor's knowledge/memory in side of them? Is Jackson's memories and knowledge flawed- like seeing the TARDIS was a balloon for example- which is why he can remain with his memories of the Doctor?

I loved the Bravo moment! Except where the Doctor said that all his companions left him, and forgot him, and broke his heart. :( I don't think any of them forget him, unless they are forced to forget (like Donna). But still. WAH! :(

It seems to me like Donna and Jackson were almost the opposite. Donna's real memories of time spent with the Doctor were wiped from her memory; all of Jackson's memories about the Doctor were fake ones, implanted by the device thingy, and also sort of caused by the fact that he went a bit insane watching his wife killed and son taken. So that's why I think he can remember - the memories he has of meeting the real Doctor were all real memories, and happened after his fugue state, which caused his initial memory loss. At least that's my interpretation of what happened. :D

I think it may be my favourite of the Christmas specials.

I still haven't watched the xmas special, nor the promo, but have them both sitting somewhere on my harddrives waiting till I am in the mood.

There is a new tv thing out in the uk on itv, called "demons". I think you might like it since it tries to attract the dr who/torchwood fanbase ;)
